Children and firearms in Turkish homes
The authors conducted a randomized in-person survey of households in Kirikkale, Turkey. They found that 12% of households kept a firearm at home, but only 30% of these kept their firearms in a locked place. Parents in households with guns reported that 27% of their children had handled the firearm.
