The authors examined the association between victim-offender relationship and three homicide variables: motive, weapon choice, and number of injuries inflicted, using medical examiner’s reports for intentional homicide cases from several Florida counties during 1992 and 1996. They found a significant association between victim-offender relationship and motive. No association was observed between victim-offender relationship and either weapon choice or number of injuries inflicted.
