In this descriptive study, the authors used Youth Risk Behaviors Surveillance System Questionnaire (YRBSS) to collect information about health risk behaviors, unintentional and intentional injury from 54 urban, 7th graders aged 11-13 years. They found that these adolescents are fearful of being hurt and reported increased incidence of health risk behaviors including alcohol use and carrying weapons.
